The Curriculam
At Nachiar – The World School, we follow the CBSE curriculum, thoughtfully aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Our educational approach is designed to support every child’s growth through clearly defined learning stages — each tailored to their age, abilities, and evolving interests.
From nurturing curiosity in the early years to preparing students for higher education and life beyond school, each stage is built on the pillars of academic excellence, skill development, character building, and holistic well-being.
Our Four Stages of Learning
1. Foundational Stage (Ages 3–8 | Pre-KG to Grade 2)
A warm, play-based environment where children build early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and a love for learning.
2. Preparatory Stage (Ages 8–11 | Grades 3 to 5)
Interactive and activity-based learning that strengthens core subjects, creativity, values, and real-world understanding.
3. Middle Stage (Ages 11–14 | Grades 6 to 8)
A deeper focus on STEM, subject integration, leadership, and practical skill-building through labs, projects, and innovation.
4. Secondary Stage (Ages 14–18 | Grades 9 to 12)
Academic rigour combined with career guidance, life skills, wellness, and competitive exam readiness — preparing students for the future with clarity and confidence.

Grades: Pre KG to Grade 2
1. Foundational Stage (5 Years)
Age Group: 3–8 years
- This stage emphasizes play-based, activity-based learning with a focus on developing motor skills, language, and early numeracy.
Subjects: English, Tamil, Hindi (3rd Lang.), Mathematics, Environmental Science, Computer Science.

Grades: 3 to 5
2. Preparatory Stage (3 Years)
Age Group: 8–11 years
Subjects: English, Tamil, Hindi (3rd Lang.), Mathematics, Environmental Science/ Science, Social Studies, Computer Science.
- This stage introduces textbooks and formal classroom learning while still incorporating play, discovery, and activity-based methods. Focus areas include language development, numeracy, and the beginnings of experiential learning.

Core subjects taught through interactive projects, Math lab experiments, scientific thinking, and formal exams to build strong literacy, numeracy, and analytical abilities

Practical lessons on money, healthy eating, personal safety, hygiene, manners, and moral values like honesty, kindness, and teamwork

Student elections, leadership roles, tree planting, nature walks, and sustainability activities encourage confidence, responsibility, and care for the environment

Daily yoga, meditation, arts, music, dance, and creative clubs support physical, emotional, and creative development.

Monthly and interschool competitions, student-led assemblies, clubs, and field trips provide opportunities for growth and real-world learning

Grades: 6 to 8
3.Middle Stage (3 Years)
Age Group: 11–14 years
Students begin to engage with more abstract concepts in subjects like Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and arts. This stage encourages critical& analytical thinking, practical learning, skill developmentwith holistic development at its core.
Subjects: English, Tamil, Hindi (3rd Lang.), Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology), Social Studies (History, Civics, Geography), Coding.

Emphasis on Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Arts, supported by well-equipped Science labs and Math labs to encourage hands-on learning and experimentation. Foundation classes boost mental ability and critical thinking
- Innovation & Skill Development
Practical, project-based learning, skill-building activities, and STEM education foster creativity, problem-solving, and analytical thinking
- Environmental Awareness & Eco Initiatives
Active participation in the Eco Club, recycling drives, tree planting, and sustainability projects nurture responsibility towards the environment
- Leadership & Decision Making
Regular student parliament sessions develop leadership, decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Financial Literacy & Information Technology
Core skill subjects include financial literacy and IT, preparing students for real-world applications.
- Value Education & Wellness
Compulsory yoga, meditation, and moral education promote physical health, emotional wellbeing, and strong values
- Exploration & Experiential Learning

Grades: IX to XII
4.Secondary Stage (4 Years)
Age Group: 14–18 years

- Split into two phases (9–10), this stage offers multidisciplinary study options, flexibility in subject choices, and deeper critical thinking. The curriculum encourages career exploration, life skills, and analytical abilities, preparing students for higher education or vocational paths.
