Annual Report 2023-2024

Achieving overall excellence is at the heart of our endeavour as educators. With high expertise, collaborative leadership and academic rigour we open the doors of endless possibilities for our children and nurture them into fruitful individuals. This report comprises the achievements made during the year gone by and at the same time sets the path for greater accomplishments in the years to come.

A warm welcome to everyone present here today. Every day is a new beginning. It is an enduring tradition to take time to pause, turn around to look at the fruitful year gone by synergizing ourselves to move ahead with a positive attitude. The year witnessed many milestones of excellent achievements in Academics, Co-Curricular activities, Sports and games, which aimed at improving the quality education and all-round development of the students. I feel proud and privileged to present the school’s achievements during the academic year 2023-24.
Nachiar- The World School, Pollachiwas established as a CBSE school with classes from Grade 1 to Grade 8 in June 2023. We enrolled 264 students and 19 teaching staff in this academic year. With the support of our Management & my team of dedicated & hardworking teachers, we received our CBSE affiliation for Senior Secondary School in the month of January 2024. It was a milestone moment for us.
As per the latest CBSE guidelines our school is fully equipped to handle CWsN children and we have ramps, special toilets, wheel chair facility and a lift for their use.
The School Library, also a member of the National Digital Library of India& British Council Digital library, is stocked with as many as 4350books. The virtual library is also a favourite haunt of students& teachers.
The Wellness Room under the stewardship of ourcounsellor& special educator helped students seeking additional support in academics& offered emotional & mental support & guidance for the wellbeing of the students& staff.
Our well-equipped Science & Mathematics lab provides activity-based learning where young minds can acquire a problem solving, tinkering and innovative mindset.
The PTA Executive Committee for the year was formed. Regular class wise meetings with the parents were also held. These meetings helped improve communication &enabled them to better understand the school’s activities.
Dance, Music, Yoga, Karate, Chess, Literary & Eco clubs serve as platforms for students to showcase and refine their talents, preparing themfor both intra-school competitions and various activities held throughout the academic year. Children participated in various competitions and bought laurels to the school.

The School Parliament:

The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.
Donning the mantle of accountability, the school government was sworn in on date Darshan was elected the Prime Minister & Vishnu Vijaykumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the Government of Nachiar. Group Capt. Natarajan presided over the ceremony.

School Achievements

Subject wise Expo’s: Language Expo, Science & Math Expo, Social Science Expo’s were conducted in different terms during the academic year.
Children & teachers worked together on many projects&art integration activities. they researched and demonstrated various principals, created models and charts, and showcased their work to their fellow school mates, teachers and parents. These activities were much appreciated by the parents and was an opportunity for children to collaborate with others and showcase their confidence & talent to all.

Sports:

Annual Sports Meet:

Nachiar The World School conducted the Annual Sports Day on the 30th ofSeptember. Mr. M. Sundaravel – Forest Range Officer was the chief guest. Our students participated in different sports competitions and won medals,Certificates and Trophies.
In the month of November our students went toSowdeshwari Matriculation School, Pollachi for the State Level meet and won manyawards and medals and brought laurels to school.

National level sports competition, YMCA, Yelagiri:

Our students actively participated in the National level competition organised by
YMCA,Yelagiri& won the following awards.

Gold medal winners:

• Jai Sakthi Vamana 100 meters sprint &long jump.
• Sasmitha – Silambam
• Deyaan – 50 meters sprint
• Thejas Krishnan -Yoga
• Kabaddi – Boys
• Akhilesh Karthik – Chess

Silver medal winners:

• Sathya – 100 meters sprint & long jump.
• Megha – Chess
• KHO-KHO- Boys
• KHO-KHO – Girls -Yoga
• Harismitha – Badminton

Bronze medal winners:

• Hashini -100 meters sprint & long jump.
• Nidula Sree – Chess
• Akchita M Nair – Badminton

Shuttle Badminton:

Boys of grade 7&8 were awarded with 2 Bronze medals, Girls 4 bronze and 1 Silver
medal.

Yoga & Karate:

At the State level Yoga competition was held at Thirupathur, 36 students participated and 20 got selected forthe nationals.
Pugalmathi, Shree Harini, Shrevenu andNeha Shree got the 1st place in their categories and won the championship. In total students won 10Gold medals, 5 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.

Karate:5 Gold, 5 silver, 5 Bronze medals

Uyir Kutty Cops:

UYIR and Transport Department Coimbatore jointly organised a safety awareness programme on the 5 th of February 2024. The members of Uyir Kutty Cops at our school worked in improving road safety awareness amongst our students, teachers & parents embodying the values of leadership, teamwork, and national service.

Achievements of Teachers:

As part of the faculty improvement programme the teachers attended various subject
specific workshops and webinars to enable them to promote the holistic development of students.

Health & Wellness:

Dental Camp:

A camp for dental check-up was conducted on 21 st of July’23
that included Dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental
ailments – especially stressing on proper brushing and tooth decay. This camp was
organised by SMILE DENTAL Camp. Children observed this camp to be highly
beneficial.

Eye Camp:

An Eye check -up camp was also held in school. The objective of the event was to spread awareness on eye disorder and their early detection of vision & eye related issues in students and provide perfect fitting spectacles to those who have weak eyesight. The camp started at 10 am and lasted till 3.30 pm for all the students.
A team of 3 teachers including Mrs. S. Sutha, Mrs. K. Karuna and Mrs. G. Vidhya Lakshmi were sent to SHANKARA EYE HOSPITAL to train in basic about eye check-up & screening to enable regular in-house screening regularly.

Anaemia Awareness Camp:

This session started with the screening of haemoglobin levels. This health awarenessprogramme saw the active participation of not only the students but also with theteachers. Details of the students were taken and and feedback reports of thestudents regarding their haemoglobin status were sent after two days to schoolwhich said that nobody had any problems. Moreover, the adolescent girls wereappropriately counselled regarding their dietary habits, biannual deworming and IFAsupplementation were distributed to all children.

Other Important Celebrations:

All-important occasions like the Founder’s Day, Environment day, Independence
day, Onam, Teachers’ day, Navaratri, Children’s Day, Deepavali, Christmas, Hindi Diwas, National EducationDay, Republic Day, Gurukul Vazhthu, etc were observed and celebrated in a befitting manner.
